During this brief we will have to work both collaboratively and individually, therefore to story board ideas and share our progress we decided as a group that it would be a great idea to use a new media source to communicate our collaborative work. For this we chose
FaceBook, we have chosen this source due to it been the social platform which the majority or people use on a daily basis.
Therefore we created a
FaceBook group which was limited, meaning that anyone who was not involved with the collaborative work could not view our research. On this social platform several members of the group have posted poster designs to inspire the rest of the group so that we can collaboratively create a brand for the show. Having a brand will enable an identity for the show, it sets a style like a logo does for a big company
i.e the Windows logo for Microsoft, to do this our poster designs, tickets, logos and other media formats will have a certain style and identity.
Later today we will be meeting with Simon - the person in charge of the A level art show
this is so that we can get approval from him for our visual aspects on design and style. Students participating in the show will also be present for the meeting which give Asher Scott and myself the opportunity to meet some of the students and view their work in order for us to select students work for filming, it also means that we will be able to meet students whom are willing to appear on camera rather than being camera shy.
Before we progress to the meeting we will be collaboratively creating a PowerPoint presentation, the presentation will need to project the values that we would like to portray from our designs. To decide what we would like to portray as a team we explored various themes which would hopefully convey the hard work and effort that the art students have put into their work. This is where the poster designs became important, online we have four separate poster designs which we discussed as a group to aid our visual identity.
Poster One:

present at the team meeting:
TB - Tim Bradley
HP - Heather-
louise PlimmerAS - Asher Scott
NH - Neil Hart
CM - Chloe
MarsdenVerdict on this poster design:-
TB - I like this poster design, it gets to the point due to the bold type settings, the poster is bold and clutter free.
AA - Concerned the poster looks to basic, almost like a brush setting in
photo shop.
HP - I agree the type looks to
pixelatedAS - In its current state it looks to basic
NH - If we make the logo bigger and the type larger it would create more of a striking look.
CM - This poster would create a strong style and brand.
HP - I agree that it would set a strong brand, but I think we need to re consider the theme or
stylings of the poster, currently it looks to grungy which some artists may be happy with yet others may not. We need to find a happy medium.
Poster Two: -
<>
AA - This poster looks a little too arty
HP - The writing on the poster needs to be a bolder or a different colour as it is hard to read.
AA - If you have to put the college logo on this it
TB - It
wouldn't work with the college logo it would blend in to easily
CM - The logo
wouldn't aesthetically suit the poster
Poster Three: -
<>
HP - This poster looks really original because of the way the text set changes in size becoming the country side. I really like the colours which are included in this image its really bold and
eye catching.
NH - When I was designing this poster I was trying to get away from the 'norm' I wanted to create something which wasnt particually to do with art, I looked at what inspired me and thought of the country, this was the inspiration for my poster design.
AS - I favour this poster design as its really eye catching
CM - Another point to make is that the logo will look really good as it will be white on a blue background.
